Tall curved profile
Feather Flags
A narrow, upright format with a curved outer edge that gives artwork a distinctive vertical silhouette.
Choose for entrances, aisles and perimeter positions with a compact visual footprint.
Custom flags & banners
Choose a flag, banner or barrier-branding format around the sightline, available footprint, artwork shape and event placement—then coordinate the graphics, applicable support or attachment direction and supporting event products in one project brief.
Direct answer
Custom flags and banners are printed brand-visibility products configured around a specific event, promotion or placement. Flags create vertical visibility through shaped graphics and pole systems; banners create wider message areas across confirmed spans or surfaces; barrier covers turn existing crowd-control barriers into course or sponsor-branding surfaces. The right choice depends on where people will see it, the available space and support, and how the artwork needs to read.

A broad commercial family covering feather, teardrop, rectangle and other portable shaped flag directions.
Start here when portable outdoor visibility is defined but the exact shape is still open.Horizontal coverage
Printed banners for event frontages, barriers, registration areas, sponsor zones and brand backdrops.
Choose when a wide message area or existing mounting span is more useful than a pole flag.Course & sponsor branding
Branded covers or panels planned around exact crowd-control barrier dimensions for race courses, finish chutes, festivals and crowd lines.
Choose when existing crowd-control barriers should carry repeated event or sponsor graphics; this format does not use a flag pole or base.Buyer decision guide
Compare the shape, application, artwork area and setup before choosing dimensions or materials. The beach-flag row is a broad portable family; the event-banner row uses a confirmed span or mounting surface; the barrier-cover row starts from exact crowd-control barrier dimensions and never enters flag pole/base selection.
| Format | Shape / profile | Best application | Artwork area | Setup direction | Typical placement |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Feather flag | Tall curved silhouette | Approach and perimeter visibility | Elongated vertical hierarchy | Compatible pole plus surface-matched base | Entrances, aisles, event perimeter |

| Rectangle flag | Straight-edged vertical field | Structured campaign or logo panel | Broad aligned grid for copy or imagery | Rectangle pole plus compatible base | Repeated perimeter or approach positions |
| Vertical flag | Tall narrow rectangle | Short message across repeated positions | Focused top-to-bottom hierarchy | Matched vertical pole plus compatible base | Approaches, retail markers, booth visibility |

| Event banner | Wide horizontal panel | Barrier, frontage, sponsor or backdrop coverage | Landscape field for wider messages | Existing span, surface, barrier or compatible frame | Barriers, registration, stages, backdrops |
| Barrier cover | Cover or panel planned around a crowd-control barrier | Course, finish chute, festival or sponsor line | Front-facing field; other views depend on the confirmed format | Exact barrier dimensions plus confirmed attachment concept | Marathons, sports events, festivals and crowd lines |
These are planning cues, not universal technical specifications. Final size, construction, material, finishing and hardware are confirmed for the selected format and site.
Applications
Custom flags connect the brand to specific event environments: marathon routes, trade show approaches, sports venues, retail activations, festivals and corporate arrival points. The relationship is functional—visibility, wayfinding and message placement—not just decorative.
Use vertical flags to mark booth approaches and banners to expand the visible message area around an exhibition setup.

A logo that works on a rectangle may need a different hierarchy on a feather or teardrop shape. Show the primary viewing direction and keep essential marks clear of curved edges, sleeves and finishing zones.

Mark the primary logo, sponsor hierarchy and any copy that must stay readable within the flag shape.

If both sides must communicate independently, show the intended orientation and content for each side.
A PNG can help as a visual reference, but it is not automatically production-ready. Artwork, resolution, fonts, colors and final dimensions are reviewed for the selected product.
Project workflow
Move from placement and product type to artwork and project details in four practical stages.
Identify the application, sightline, placement surface and space available for each flag or banner.
Select feather, teardrop, rectangle, vertical, beach-flag family or event banner, then describe the approximate size and quantity.
Provide logo files, colors, sponsor artwork, message hierarchy and viewing-side requirements.
Add event dates, required delivery date, destination and any tents, table covers or promotional products.
No fixed specification is assumed. XZD Branding reviews the product type, artwork, placement, supporting hardware and project requirements before quotation.
Quote checklist
A clear first brief helps the format, artwork, hardware and supporting event products get reviewed together. Use approximate information where final specifications are not known yet.
Name the trade show, race, sports event, retail activation, festival or corporate use.
Choose feather, teardrop, rectangle, vertical, beach-flag family, event banner, barrier cover or describe the visibility need.
Share approximate dimensions, available footprint and estimated quantity.
Provide logos, colors, sponsor graphics and single- or double-sided preference where relevant.
Explain the placement and viewing direction. For portable flags, include the surface and pole/base need; for barrier covers, include exact barrier dimensions and attachment references.
Include the event date, required delivery date, country or destination, and related event products.
Buyer FAQs
Direct answers for buyers comparing flag formats, artwork requirements, placement and quote inputs.
A custom feather flag is a tall, curved advertising flag printed with brand or campaign artwork and supported by a compatible pole and base system. It is commonly used to create vertical visibility beside event entrances, booth approaches, race routes and retail activations.
A feather flag has a taller, more open curved profile, while a teardrop flag keeps the graphic inside a more compact enclosed shape. The better choice depends on the artwork shape, available footprint, sightline and event placement.
Many flag families can be planned for indoor or outdoor applications, but the pole, base, fabric and configuration must suit the selected format and placement surface. Share the intended location in the RFQ so the applicable setup can be reviewed.
Single- and double-sided constructions are documented across the source family, but they are not universal to every flag, fabric or size. Confirm the required viewing direction so the appropriate construction can be discussed.
AI, EPS, SVG or PDF files are useful starting points for scalable graphics. A high-resolution PNG can also help as a reference. File type alone does not make artwork production-ready; layout, image resolution, colors, fonts and final dimensions still require review.
Share the flag, banner or barrier-cover type, approximate size, quantity, artwork, colors, viewing-side preference where relevant, support or attachment needs, placement, event date, required delivery date and destination. Barrier-cover briefs also need exact barrier dimensions or model references. Include tents, table covers or promotional products if they are part of the same event.
No. Barrier covers are planned around existing crowd-control barriers and exact attachment requirements. They are excluded from the portable-flag pole and base workflow.
